Timothy G. Biltz
President and CEO
Timothy G. Biltz currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Lumos Networks and Spirit Communications, a role he assumed in April 2018 when Lumos and Spirit were brought under the same ownership group. Mr. Biltz was named President and CEO of Lumos Networks in April 2012, and was named a director in May 2012. Previously, Mr. Biltz served as director for NTELOS Holdings Corp. from 2006 to May 1, 2014. He also served as a director for iPCS, Inc., a wireless service provider from 2004 to 2009 and served as Chairman of the iPCS Inc. Board starting in 2006. From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Biltz was the Chief Operating Officer of SpectraSite, Inc., a publicly-traded wireless and broadcast signal tower company. From 1989 to 1999 Mr. Biltz was employed by Vanguard Cellular Systems, Inc. in a number of posts of increasing responsibility ultimately serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Johan G. Broekhuysen
Chief Financial Officer
Johan G. Broekhuysen currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Lumos Networks and Spirit Communications. Prior to the combination of Lumos and Spirit, Mr. Broekhuysen served as the CFO of Lumos Networks, beginning in October 2014. He joined Lumos Networks in November of 2012 as Vice President and Corporate Controller and in January 2014 was appointed Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to joining Lumos Networks, he served as Senior Vice President of Finance, Corporate Controller and Assistant Treasurer for GlobalLogic Inc. from 2010 to 2012 and as Corporate Controller from 2008 to 2010. From 2004 to 2008, he held multiple positions with AOL Time Warner, last serving as Director of Financial Reporting and Consolidation. Prior to that, he served in a number of accounting and financial roles at Norsk Hydro ASA, Metrocall Inc., Qwest Telecommunications and Unilever PLC. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of The South Africa-Washington International Program (SAWIP).
Chief Technology Officer and Project Management Officer
Thomas E. Ferry currently serves as Chief Technology Officer of Lumos Networks and Spirit Communications, a position he has held since the two companies combined in April 2018. He had previously served as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer of Lumos Networks. Prior to that role, he served as Vice President of Engineering & Program Management from May 2014 to April 2016. Before joining Lumos Networks, he served as Manager of IT Program and Project Management for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield from 2007 to 2012; as Director of Americas Project Management & Solution Delivery for CoManage, Corp (now Syndesis); and Director of Program Management & Product Development for Adelphia Business Solutions. Mr. Ferry began his career with AT&T Bell Laboratories and later served in various positions of increasing responsibility culminating as Director of Program Management for AT&T Wireless. Mr. Ferry has a BS in electrical engineering from Monmouth University and is PMP certified.
Chief Operating Officer
Greg Guerra currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Lumos Networks and Spirit Communications. With more than 20 years in the communications industry, Greg oversees the company's strategic planning, business development, product management, technical consulting and operations. Prior to his current role, Greg served as Chief Operating Office of Spirit Communications. He has also served as the vice president of business development for Comcast Business Communications in Philadelphia and Director of National Planning for Teleport Communications of Princeton, NJ, providing commercial communication services. He began his communications career with AT&T in Bedminster, NJ, as district manager for local access and business development.
Mr. Guerra also is the founder of Home Central, a company that provides home owners and small business owners with the ability to manage their security systems, surveillance devices, heating and air conditioning systems and other devices remotely over the Internet. He is a cum laude graduate of Villanova University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and graduated with honors from Seton Hall University's W. Paul Stillman School of Business with a master's degree in business administration.
Chief Revenue Officer
Grey Humphrey currently serves as the Chief Revenue Office of Lumos Networks and Spirit Communications. Prior to his current role, he served as President of PalmettoNet and Chief Marketing Officer for Spirit Communications. Mr. Humphrey joined Spirit Telecom in 1998 as the general manager of the data networks group. Before taking on his role with PalmettoNet, Humphrey was Spirit's Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Spirit, Humphrey worked for TSI LineOne, SouthernNet, Telecom*USA, MCI and SCANA Communications. A native of South Carolina, Mr. Humphrey is a graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in administrative management. He received his master of business administration from the University of South Carolina, Moore School of Business.
General Counsel and Human Resources
Mary McDermott currently serves as General Counsel and the head of Human Resources for Lumos Networks and Spirit Communications. She previously served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Lumos Networks. Prior to the separation of Lumos Networks from NTELOS, she had served as Senior Vice President, Legal and Regulatory Affairs, since 2001. Prior to joining NTELOS, Ms. McDermott served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Pathnet Telecommunications, Inc; Senior Vice President Chief of Staff for Government Relations for the Personal Communications Industry Association and Vice President, Legal and Regulatory Affairs for the United States Telecom Association. She began her telecommunications career with the New England Telephone legal department and then joined the legal department of New England Telephone’s parent company, NYNEX.
Senior Vice President/General Manager, Lumos Data Centers
Josh Wolff currently serves as Senior Vice President of the Lumos Data Center business. Mr. Wolff is based in Charlotte and oversees the company’s data center efforts across Lumos Networks’ and Spirit Communications’ entire fiber network, including DC74, which Lumos acquired in February of 2017. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Wolff was the SVP and Director of Northridge/Perficient, based in Charlotte, and was focused on Business Development throughout the Carolinas and Metro DC markets since 2011. From 2005 to 2011, Mr. Wolff was the General Manager and Regional Director of Hosted Solutions/Windstream Communications’ Charlotte Data Center Operation, where he helped launch and was tasked with maximizing sales growth in that market.
Senior Vice President/General Manager, Residential and Small Business
Diego B. Anderson was appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager of Residential and Small Business (R&SB) segment in January 2014. He had previously served as Vice President of Operations. Mr. Anderson also served in Director of Operations and Director of Engineering & Construction roles within NTELOS. Prior to NTELOS, he held several management positions with Sprint. Mr. Anderson has a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology from South Carolina State, and a Masters in Administration from Central Michigan University.

Spirit Communications Park is located in the heart of downtown Columbia, SC. Home of the Columbia Fireflies Minor League Baseball Team, the venue will seat approximately 8,000 for sporting events and up to 14,000 for major outdoor concerts. Spirit Communications Park is truly a multi-use venue as it’s not only designed to host activities like baseball, concerts, soccer and football, but with 16 luxury suites and a 7,000 square-foot Club Lounge it can also accommodate anything from business meetings to wedding receptions, and everything in-between. Beyond scheduled events, the park will be open 365 days a year with public attractions to include a park and a 360 degree, 1/3 of a mile concourse ideal for walkers and joggers.
Owner of the Fort Wayne TinCaps of the Midwest League and the Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern League, Hardball Capital has devoted the South Atlantic League’s affiliate of the New York Mets to Columbia’s “hot spot,” BullStreet. The Columbia Fireflies will play games across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, including in-state rivals the Charleston Riverdogs and the Greenville Drive, but will play at home, at Spirit Communications Park, the hub of the BullStreet development – a collaborative venture between Hardball Capital, the City of Columbia, Hughes Development and Columbia based company, Spirit Communications.
Beyond their commitment to Spirit Communications Park, Spirit Communications is entrusted with making BullStreet a true Gigabit community, further solidifying their investment in the City of Columbia’s success.
